Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Book Beacon may collect, why it is used, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

Effective July 16, 2026Updated July 16, 2026

This notice describes Book Beacon’s general website and inquiry practices. A project agreement or a notice shown at the point of collection may provide additional details for a particular service.

01

Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information handled through Book Beacon websites, inquiry forms, email communications, consultations, and publishing-service interactions that link to this policy.

It does not control third-party websites, retailers, distribution platforms, payment providers, or other services with their own privacy practices.

02

Information we may collect

The information we receive depends on how you interact with us and which publishing services you ask about or use.

  • Contact information, including your name, email address, phone number, location, and preferred communication details.
  • Inquiry information, such as the service you need, project stage, genre, goals, timeline, budget context, and messages you send.
  • Project materials, including manuscripts, outlines, artwork, recordings, author biographies, publishing metadata, account instructions, and revision feedback.
  • Commercial and administrative information needed for proposals, agreements, invoicing, payments, tax, accounting, or project delivery. Payment-card details may be handled directly by a payment provider rather than Book Beacon.
  • Technical information commonly generated when a website is used, such as IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, and security logs.
  • Communications and records of your interactions with our team, including emails, consultation notes, approvals, support requests, and project decisions.
03

How information is collected

We may collect information directly from you when you complete a form, send an email, schedule or join a consultation, provide project materials, enter an agreement, or communicate during a project.

Limited technical information may also be collected automatically by hosting, security, and website infrastructure. We may receive information from a representative acting for you, a service provider you direct us to work with, or a publishing platform involved in your project.

04

How we may use information

We use personal information only for relevant business, publishing, communication, security, and legal purposes.

  • Responding to inquiries, arranging consultations, and recommending an appropriate publishing route.
  • Preparing proposals, agreements, schedules, project briefs, and service recommendations.
  • Providing and coordinating writing, editorial, design, production, publishing, distribution, marketing, website, and related services.
  • Communicating about milestones, reviews, approvals, invoices, support, and changes to a project.
  • Operating, protecting, troubleshooting, and improving the website and our internal workflows.
  • Maintaining business records, enforcing agreements, preventing misuse, and meeting applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
  • Sending marketing communications where permitted and where you have not opted out.
06

How information may be shared

Book Beacon may share information only when it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy.

  • With team members, contractors, and publishing specialists who need the information to evaluate or deliver your project.
  • With hosting, communications, file-storage, accounting, payment, security, project-management, and other operational service providers.
  • With printers, retailers, distributors, audiobook platforms, website providers, advertising channels, or other third parties you approve or that are required for selected services.
  • With professional advisers, insurers, auditors, or authorities where reasonably necessary to protect rights, comply with law, or respond to valid legal process.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Book Beacon does not sell personal information for monetary consideration as part of its publishing services.

07

Cookies and website data

The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for hosting, security, accessibility, form operation, or user preferences. Server and security logs may also record limited technical information.

If optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced, Book Beacon will provide additional information and choices where required. Browser controls can also be used to restrict or delete cookies, although some website functions may be affected.

08

Retention and security

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, the duration of the relationship, record-keeping needs, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, and applicable legal obligations. Different records may have different retention periods.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information. No method of transmission, storage, or online operation can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you should use care when sending sensitive or confidential material.

09

International processing

Book Beacon may support authors and work with service providers in different locations. As a result, information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, reasonable contractual or other safeguards will be used for international transfers.

10

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on your location and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection in relation to personal information. You may also withdraw consent and opt out of marketing communications.

To make a request, email info@bookbeaconpublishing.com. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the scope of the request before responding. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.

11

Children and third-party links

The website and publishing inquiry services are intended for adults and are not designed to collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

Links to third-party websites and platforms are provided for convenience or project delivery. Their information practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

12

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when practices, services, technology, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes may also be communicated through another reasonable channel where appropriate.
